In this hands-on class, we aren’t just drawing, we are carving using the ancient technique of sgraffito. You will learn how to build up layers of oil pastel and then scratch to reveal the vibrant colors hidden below. This class is a bit messy, so an old t-shirt or an apron is recommended. We’ll be creating lots of little "pastel crumbs" as we scratch our way to a masterpiece!

Flower Photography Workshop

Photographer Jean Maher will be sharing tips on how to capture intricate and interesting perspectives of flowers that bloom throughout the growing season, sometimes along with the small visitors that land on them. The workshop is being offered in conjunction with the Friends of the St. Croix Management District's Season of Wild photography contest, underway now. The workshop is geared toward amateur photographers and young (10-16 yrs.) photographers. Workshop participants qualify for a 50% discount off the submission fee when they enter images into the contest.
