Unforgotten Washington County Stories from the Korean War
Presented by Washington County Parks at Washington County Historic Courthouse Stillwater, MN
The Korean War (1950–1953) is often called the “Forgotten War,” overshadowed by World War II that ended just five years earlier. But in Washington County, it is anything but forgotten. Eleven local men were killed in action during the war, and their stories continue to live on in the memories of families, friends, and the community they left behind. Their service, sacrifice, and experiences form a powerful chapter in our shared history. Visit the Washington County Historic Courthouse to explore an exhibit that brings these stories to life.

Music in the Park - Tommy Bentz Band
Presented by River Falls Community Arts Base (CAB) at Veterans Park (River Falls) River Falls, WI
Tommy Bentz’s sound gives credence to the fact that many faces and different genres of music have allowed him to create his own sound: one that blends ideals from many flavors of music into one (kind of like at the ice cream store he managed as a teen). The distinct movement, layering, and syncopation of his style, though intense, is immediately accessible to the listener. Some may say that Tommy Bentz's greatest asset is his confident and mature electric slide guitar style; others will argue that his insightful lyrics and adept layering of sound are what keep them coming back to hear him play again and again. Regardless, with three full length albums under his belt - each a landmark of musical growth in a coming-of-age fashion, Tommy Bentz represents a man with spirit, drive, thoughtful journeys, and musical ability that so many musicians strive to achieve.

Summer Concert on the Terrace: Minnesota State Band
Presented by Stillwater Public Library at Stillwater Public Library Stillwater, MN
The Minnesota State Band is the Official Band of the State of Minnesota and has been in existence for over 125 years (since 1898). The band is the only remaining State Band in the United States. While at one time the band received funding from the State of Minnesota, the band is now operated as a non-profit organization with an all-volunteer membership. The Band has represented the State of Minnesota on six International Goodwill Tours since 1986. While international travel is important, the band sees its primary mission as providing high quality music to the residents of Minnesota. In the case of inclement weather, this event will be held inside the Margaret Rivers Room. Special thanks to the Stillwater Public Library Foundation for sponsoring the library’s Summer Reading Program and this special series of concerts on the terrace. Their generous support helps bring the community together through music, learning, and shared experiences all summer long. Tea and Poetry with Kali
Presented by ArtReach St. Croix at ArtReach St. Croix Stillwater, MN
This is a hybrid tea session, where the first hour is a contemplative community experience held mostly in silence. Kali will introduce the tea practice, we will share typically 4-5 bowls of tea and at the end of the session there will be time to share/speak/listen. We will move into the poetry portion of the evening with a brief free write to get the pen moving on the page. During this second hour, Kali will also share a poem which we will discuss and offer a writing prompt. The group size is limited to 10, so please sign up in advance to reserve your spot. July 23rd, 6-8pm $10 cash only artist material fee to be paid to Kali day of the event. FAQ Is there caffeine in the tea? Yes. Camilla sinensis is naturally caffeinated and not an herbal tea (e.g. peppermint tea, chamomile tea, etc.). The flavor is more earthy in nature and is either wild or organic, grown with devotion and care. In the evenings, Kali serves a special GABA oolong tea, which can promote relaxation, reduces stress, and supports cardiovascular and neurological health and better sleep. Caffeine increases with how long it is steeped for, and in our time, Kali does shorter steepings and smaller bowls starting with a 3 second steep and at the most going to a 1 minute steep. Most people are not impacted by drinking this kind of tea in later evenings because the general caffeine content is quite low. If you…
