Nature Stamping Art Class

The session begins with a brief introduction to simple stamping techniques and creative ideas for working with natural materials. Together, we’ll take a walk to gather leaves, plants, and other small nature treasures, then return to the lodge to create one-of-a-kind stamped cards or art pieces inspired by the outdoors. This class is a wonderful way to slow down, connect with nature, and turn found objects into meaningful handmade art.

Sunrise Prairie Hike

Fall is the best time of year to experience the fullness of the prairie. We will be hiking on mowed trails with gently rolling terrain. Bring your binoculars, water, and dress for the weather. Hope to see you there! 3~ Walking moderate distances with some steps and/or stairs and standing. This course is led by Lynette Anderson Lynette is involved with both programming and land management at Belwin Conservancy. She enjoys creating walks and talks that showcase the great work being done to restore native habitat for all the critters and plants. She also gets to be involved with the work that creates the habitat, which she loves. Each day holds something different for her. Some days she is working with her body on the land, some days she does reconnaissance for a program, some days she works with volunteers, and some days, nights or evenings she gets to lead a group to some amazing phenological event happening on Belwin property.

Mystery Youth Writing Contest Celebration and Rebecca Ansari Author Visit

On Thursday, October 22, the library will host ALA Notable Book author Rebecca Ansari! Celebrate local young authors and learn more about Rebecca's writing process and journey from being an ER doctor to author. The author visit will be the final event in our young authors’ writing contest based on Rebecca Ansari’s middle-grade novels "The Missing Piece of Charlie O'Reilly" and "The In-Between". You do not need to participate in the writing contest to attend the event. Writing contest entries are due by Friday, October 9. Entries can be submitted in person or at 2026 Youth Writing Contest Registration Form.

Lullabies and Nightmares: Nordic Songs and Stories

Nordic Lullabies and Nightmares invites you to step into a world where traditional music carries both light and shadows. Experience traditional songs from Sweden, Iceland, and other Nordic countries, both sung and played on the nyckelharpa, a centuries-old Nordic instrument. These melodies move between light and shadow, and some have been passed down as folktales that try to inspire sleep, comfort, and a wee bit of Nordic angst and existential dread. Registration encouraged but not required. This program was funded by the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund, also known as Legacy Funding.
